Cocomino™ Marula Cream Conditioner

My Honest Review

I was very excited to try this product because not only is it a line free of sulfates, silicones, essential oils, fragrance, dyes, and drying alcohols (Which all wreak havoc on my dry, coarse, textured and damaged hair) but it is also SCALP FOCUSED. Something many of us who suffer from scalp conditions GREATLY appreciate. What does it provide the scalp? The Cocomino™ Marula Cream Conditioner boasts a scalp-compatible acidic pH of 3.6 and coconut alkanes which won’t disrupt the scalp's natural pH.

Price

★★★★

At $25 I think this is fairly priced. It's a great product, and a little does go a long way. I have very long hair though so I WILL be going through this bottle within a month.

Smell

★★★★★

I don't know how they bottled the Caribbean into this, but every time I smell it I feel like Im taken back to the beaches of Puerto Rico. It's a fragrance fit for a luxury tropical spa and a great way to bring my mood up while starting my day in cold NYC.

Packaging

★★★

I love Drunk Elephant's minimal signature duo-tone packaging. I'm a little lazy when it comes to packaging, I prefer pump designs for easy and fast delivery and I wish they had bulk containers as well.

Results

★★★★★

It's very difficult to please me when it comes to hair care because I have SO many hair and scalp issues. In case you missed my hair profile post here's a little refresher: I have dry scalp, flaking, itchiness, coarse, thick, dry, damaged, textured, frizzy long hair. So no ONE product can do it all for me. I usually have to choose between having smooth hair or having a calm scalp.

That was until this conditioner.

I have been using this for a little over a week now and I cannot believe the improvement. My hair is moisturized and soft even when I air-dry. WHAT?! That's unheard of for my hair. But the most impressive result is how calm my scalp is. It does NOT itch. This NEVER happens unless I use my arsenal of scalp treatments.

Overall

★★★★★

I didn't start this blog to review or hero any products because I like to find what works and stick to it. But MAN, I have been searching and I have been struggling for a long time with products that only cater to hair and completely destroy my scalp. I share this experience today hoping one of my fellow scalp-stressed frizz-obsessed readers will find the same relief I have.

I sincerely want to thank Drunk Elephant x Chris McMillan for thinking about the scalp when formulating these products and I hope you make larger pump dispensing packaging so I can buy in bulk. I can't wait to try out the rest of this line!
